Prayer Service, Election Eve

Prayer Service, Election Eve

Carrie Newcomer has a song that has a familiar line in it:         “There is sorrow and trouble in this land.” We realize that division is present in our country.   We also understand that God is all about people of various faiths, economic status, culture, ethnic backgrounds, gender and sexual orientation coming together to talk about what we have in common.           Join us at St. Andrews Lutheran Church Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at 7:15 pm in our sanctuary at 1501 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo, for a prayer service.          You are invited whether you are Christian or Jew or Muslim, or Agnostic or undecided, to pray to your Higher Power to give us strength and bravery as we face an election on Tuesday.          We will not be lifting up any particular candidates or items on the ballot.   We will be praying for peace and for healing in the United States.    We will be praying for elected officials to work together and put division aside.         When we think about the work of Jesus, we understand that he crossed barriers and ate with tax collectors and Pharisees.        All are welcome and we really mean it.    from Pastor Connie – St. Andrews Lutheran Church.   If you have a question, please contact Pastor Connie at...
